Odd Hunt ("the app") is a casual puzzle game for iPhone and Android, built by Rajesh Hadiya. Odd Hunt has no accounts and no servers of its own, and your game progress stays on your device. The game is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob, so this policy explains both what stays on your device and what Google may collect to serve ads.
The short version
Your progress — levels, stars, coins, and settings — is saved only on your phone, and we never receive it. The one thing that leaves your device is what Google AdMob collects to show and measure ads, described below.
What the app stores — on your device only
- Your progress: the levels you have completed, the stars you earned, and your coins.
- What you have unlocked: board skins and reward chests.
- Your settings: sound and haptics.
All of this is saved in the app’s own storage on your device. It is never uploaded to us, and we cannot see it. Your phone’s own backup may keep a copy; if it does, Apple or Google holds it under their own privacy policy.
Ads
Odd Hunt shows banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads served by Google AdMob. Rewarded videos play only when you choose to watch one, for example to get a hint, extra time, or double coins.
To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect and use:
- Device identifiers, including your device’s advertising identifier. On iPhone, this is used only if you allow tracking when the app asks.
- Your approximate location, worked out from your IP address.
- App usage and diagnostic information, such as how ads perform and whether the app crashes.
Google handles this information under its own privacy policy. It is not shared with us, and we do not use it. To learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices
- On iPhone, the app asks for your permission before ads can use the advertising identifier for tracking. You can say no, and change your answer at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions where it is required, Google’s consent form appears when you first open the app and asks how your data may be used for ads. You can change your choice at any time in the app, in Settings → Privacy choices.
- On Android, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads; wording varies by phone).
What the app does NOT do
- No accounts, sign-in, or user profiles.
- No analytics tools of our own — the only data collection is what AdMob does, as described above.
- No in-app purchases.
- No access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or precise location.
Links the app opens
Rate us opens the App Store or Google Play page for the game, and Settings can open this privacy policy in your browser. Occasionally the app also shows the system rating prompt, which Apple or Google displays.
Deleting your data
Your progress is stored only on your device, so deleting the app deletes it. Information Google AdMob has already collected is held by Google; you can manage it through the privacy and ad settings of your Apple or Google account.
Children's privacy
Odd Hunt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the "last updated" date revised before any change takes effect.
