Naamly ("the app") is a naam jap counter for iOS, built by Rajesh Hadiya. Naamly is designed to be private by default: it has no servers, no analytics, and makes no network calls. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles and where it lives.
The short version
Everything you do in Naamly stays on your device. We cannot see your data — there is nothing to see on our side, because nothing is ever sent to us.
Data the app stores — on your device only
- Your mantras, chant counts, daily history, streaks, and achievements.
- Your settings: counter layout, mala style, palette, appearance mode, daily goal, and reminder time.
- Your profile name and optional profile photo. The photo is cropped and saved inside the app’s private sandbox on your device.
All of this is stored locally in the app’s own storage. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere.
Sign in with Apple
Signing in is optional — Guest mode works without any account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, authentication happens through Apple, and the app receives an Apple-provided identifier and, if you allow it, your name. These are stored only on your device. Naamly has no backend, so no account information ever leaves your phone.
Notifications
Daily reminders are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device after you grant permission. No notification data is sent to any server.
Data export
You can export your data as a JSON file at any time from Settings. The export is generated on your device and shared through the iOS share sheet — where it goes from there is entirely your choice.
What the app does NOT do
- No analytics or tracking of any kind.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs.
- No data collection, transmission, sale, or sharing — with anyone.
Deleting your data
Because all data lives on your device, deleting the app deletes everything with it. If you want to keep a copy, export your data first from Settings.
Children's privacy
Naamly collects no data from anyone — including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the "last updated" date revised before any change takes effect.
