Mosaic ("the app") is a photo and video collage maker for iOS, built by Rajesh Hadiya. Mosaic runs entirely on your device: it has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and makes no network requests. This policy explains what the app touches and where it all stays.
The short version
Your photos and videos never leave your iPhone through Mosaic. Everything — picking media, previewing, trimming, mixing audio, exporting — happens on the device. There is no backend that could receive your media, because there is no backend at all.
Your photo library
Mosaic asks for access to your photo library for two distinct reasons, and it is worth being clear about both:
- To read — so the app can show you your photos and videos and load the ones you choose into a collage. Media you do not select is never opened.
- To add — so a finished collage can be saved back to your library.
If you would rather not grant access to everything, iOS lets you choose Limited access and hand over only the items you pick. Mosaic works with that. You can review or change either permission at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
Nothing is copied off your device at any point. The originals stay where they are; the app reads the frames it needs to build your collage and writes the result back to your library.
What the app stores — on your device only
- Your saved collages: which items you used, the layout, cell sizes, how each piece is panned and zoomed, per-clip trim points, volume and mute, spacing, corner radius, backdrop colour, and aspect ratio.
- Your settings: appearance, default aspect ratio, export quality, whether finished collages save to Photos automatically, and how your saved collages are sorted.
All of it lives in the app’s own storage on your device. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere.
Your finished collages
Exported collages are written to your photo library. From that point they are ordinary items in Photos, entirely under your control. Mosaic keeps no second copy of the finished file and no record of what you have made beyond the editable collage on your own device.
What the app does NOT do
- No analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs — the app has no external dependencies.
- No accounts, no sign-in, and no iCloud sync.
- No network requests — the app works identically in airplane mode.
- No data collection, transmission, sale, or sharing — with anyone.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes every saved collage and every setting it stored. Collages you already exported stay in your photo library, because they belong to your library rather than to the app — see the account and data deletion page for the full steps.
Children's privacy
Mosaic collects no data from anyone — including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the "last updated" date revised before any change takes effect.
