DualCam

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 27, 2026

DualCam ("the app") is a dual-camera video recorder for iOS, built by Rajesh Hadiya. DualCam is designed to be private by default: it has no servers, no analytics, and makes no network calls. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles and where it lives.

The short version

Your recordings never leave your iPhone through DualCam. There is no account, no upload, and no cloud. We cannot see your videos — there is nothing to see on our side, because nothing is ever sent to us.

Your recordings and photos

When you finish a recording or take a still photo, DualCam writes it directly to your device’s photo library using add-only access. That means the app can add new media to your library, but it cannot read, browse, or delete anything already in it.

Once saved, your videos and photos are yours and live under your control in the Photos app. DualCam keeps no second copy and no index of them.

Camera and microphone

Camera and microphone access are used only to show the live preview and to record the video you asked for. Frames and audio are composited on your device and written to the file being recorded. Nothing is buffered for any other purpose, and no frame or sample ever leaves the device.

Data the app stores — on your device only

  • Your layout preferences: camera layout, picture-in-picture shape, position, scale, and border colour.
  • Your recording settings: video quality, which outputs to save, front-camera mirroring, and grid visibility.
  • Your teleprompter script, along with its scroll speed, text size, and auto-start preference.
  • Whether you have completed the introduction.

All of this is stored locally in the app’s own preferences on your device. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere. Your teleprompter script in particular stays on your phone — it is never sent anywhere for processing.

What the app does NOT do

  • No analytics or tracking of any kind.
  • No advertising and no ad identifiers.
  • No third-party SDKs.
  • No accounts, sign-in, or user identifiers.
  • No network requests — the app works identically in airplane mode.
  • No data collection, transmission, sale, or sharing — with anyone.

Permissions the app asks for

  • Camera — required, to run the front and back cameras and show the preview.
  • Microphone — required, to record audio with your video.
  • Photos (add-only) — required, because it is the only place a finished recording can be saved.

All three are requested on first launch and all three are required. You can review or revoke them at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes every preference and your saved teleprompter script. Videos and photos DualCam has already added to your photo library are not removed — they belong to your library, not to the app. Delete those from the Photos app if you want them gone.

Children's privacy

DualCam collects no data from anyone — including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the "last updated" date revised before any change takes effect.
