Droidcon India ("the app") is a companion app for droidcon India and fluttercon India 2026, built by Rajesh Hadiya. It has no sign-in, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. You only share personal information if you choose to create a networking profile. This policy explains exactly what is stored and where.
What we collect
Nothing, unless you create a networking profile. There is no sign-in, and the app has no analytics, ads or tracking.
Networking profile (optional)
If you create a profile to connect with other attendees, we store what you enter: your name, and optionally your job title, a short "about" line, your LinkedIn link, your phone number (visible only to people you have connected with), a photo and which days you are attending. We also store:
- Your connections: when you scan another attendee’s code and connect, we store that the two of you connected and when. Both of you can see it.
- Reports you file about other profiles.
- A hashed (not readable) form of your IP address when you create a profile, used only to limit spam profiles.
Your phone keeps a private key that lets it edit your profile; we store only a hashed form of it. Your phone also keeps that key in the Keychain (iPhone) or Google’s Block Store (Android), so your profile comes back after a reinstall. If you save a recovery code, we store only a hashed form of it.
Who can see your profile: attendees who scan your code, and, while their switches are on, everyone in the app’s "Who’s around" list and on the connections leaderboard. You can turn either switch off at any time.
Deleting your data
Delete your profile in the app (People, Who’s around, your profile, Delete my profile). This removes your profile, photo and connections straight away. If you no longer have the app, email [email protected] and we will delete it. All profiles, photos, connections and reports are deleted within 90 days after the event.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only to scan attendee codes inside the app. No images from the camera are stored or sent. If you add a profile photo, only the one photo you pick is uploaded. On iPhone, if you save your "I’m going" card or recovery code to Photos, the app asks for permission to add to your photo library; it can add images but cannot read your library.
Reminders
Talk reminders are local notifications, scheduled on your device after you allow notifications. They are not sent from any server. On Android, the app also uses the system’s alarm and restart permissions so that reminders arrive on time and survive a restart.
What stays on your device
Your favourites, preferences, interests, trivia answers and the people you block are stored on your device. We never receive them. Your starred talks are also kept in your phone’s own secure storage, so they come back after a reinstall or on a new phone: in iCloud Keychain on iPhone, and in Google’s Block Store on Android, which is backed up to your Google account if Google backup is on. Apple or Google holds these copies under their own privacy policies, and we have no access to them. On iPhone, if you use iCloud Backup, Apple may also include the app’s other data in your device backup; on Android, the app opts out of regular app backup.
Where the agenda comes from
The agenda and speaker details come from public Sessionize data. The app fetches them from a small mirror of that data, and from Sessionize directly if the mirror is unavailable.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the "last updated" date revised before any change takes effect.
